In silence time

During this time (lack of posts) I worked on two WordPress scripts and was drawing – until yesterday I wasn’t quite sure what this drawing was for, but that’s for the next post.

The first script is a gallery script that ultimately works as a WordPress plugin. It’s a system for displaying exhibitions. It has many informational options – each image has a link to a separate page where you can place all information, plus a link that’s connected to the second script, the shop. The exhibitions page contains windows of exhibitions that are planned/in preparation, and if an exhibition is open, you can enter it. On the main exhibition page, there is a “poster” with information typically found on posters: title, number of visits, number of works, curator, exhibition opening, exhibition location (address) – the online exhibition can work as support for a traditional offline exhibition.

Scrolling down the page with the mouse wheel, there is detailed exhibition information. I included information in three languages: English, French, and German. Photos from previous offline exhibitions where I showed these paintings. You can add links, photos, and videos. The system’s goal is to mentally get as close as possible to offline exhibitions.

The second script connects a WordPress-based shop with a global printing house’s API, where the system works touchlessly. Once a product (postcard, print) is entered, it independently contacts the printing house and processes the order.

It’s very interesting how many problems you encounter during such work, whose effects aren’t visible. But which are essential for operation.

In the exhibition system, I still have a few things to improve, including full smartphone support. I invite you to the exhibition at http://mateuszbeznic.com/exhibition/

I’m simultaneously finishing work on a catalogue/album of these works, which will be available for purchase in the shop. The catalogue will work on a similar principle as other printed works, just connected with a different publisher.

By the way, I bought the domain art-is-fine.com – with the idea of developing the system globally, for other artists. Gallery, an online publishing house – maybe.
